Frequently Asked Questions

What types of animals do you treat?

Mainly dogs, cats, cattle, horses, sheep and goats. We do our best with exotic (pocket pet) species like rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, bearded dragons, snakes, etc.

How can I contact the clinic in case of an emergency?

Please call us at 320-235-7396. If a vet does not answer; please leave a message and a vet will call you back as soon as they are able (usually in about 20 minutes or less).

What is the payment policy? Do you accept insurance?

Payment is due at the time of service. We offer CareCredit and Scratchpay as an option for clients who may need financial assistance with their total. We do accept most insurances. Pet Insurance does work a little differently than it does for people. The client is still responsible for the full payment at the time of service and we can help assist you in submitting the claim to your insurance so that they can reimburse you.

Can I order pet medications and products through your clinic?

YES. We can dispense medications and products from our clinic along with our online pharmacy: https://south71.vetsfirstchoice.com/. You can easily find our online pharmacy by visiting our website: https://south71vet.com/ and clicking on the Shop Online Button found on the home page.

How often should my pet receive vaccinations?

This depends on the age of your pet and its vaccination history as well as which vaccine you want.

What preventive care measures do you recommend for pets?

We recommend yearly exams so we can help catch and diagnose problems earlier. We also recommend flea and tick preventatives as well as heartworm/intestinal parasite control (usually given monthly) all year round.

Is there a pet health portal or online system for accessing my pet's medical records?

We use AllyDVM (PetPage App) for our online pet portals to access your pets’ medical records. If you are an existing client and would like to get this set up, please give us a call and we would happily get this set up for you. If you are a new client to us, once we have seen your pet in our clinic, we can get you set up as well.

What measures is the clinic taking to ensure a clean and safe environment for pets?

The entire clinic is cleaned and disinfected daily as well as exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned and disinfected after every appointment.
“Great vets here! They answer questions and give you options. They keep prices reasonable.”
