Meet the Team

Dr. Ryan Tollefsrud

Dr. Tollefsrud grew up in Minnesota and graduated from Kansas State Veterinary College in 2012. He joined the team in 2013 and attained ownership of the multi-clinic practice in 2017. Dr. Tollefsrud has one son, Owen. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities, including farming and fishing. Dr. Tollefsrud enjoys working with both large and small animals.

Dr. Steve Rumsey

Dr. Rumsey graduated from the University of Minnesota Veterinary College. He later established the South 71 Veterinary Clinic in 1984. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and reading. Dr. Rumsey enjoys working with both large and small animals and exotic pets.

Dr. Gregg Laurence

Dr. Laurence graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1987. He works primarily with large animals but also examines dogs and cats in the office. Dr. Laurence enjoys outdoor activities in his spare time, including fishing, hunting, and taking in sports activities. Dr. Laurence shares his home with his two dogs and a cat named Smokey. He is married to his wife Karen and has three children, Nathan, Caleb, and Rebecca.

Dr. Deb Bauman

Dr. Bauman attended college at Baylor University and graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. Dr. Bauman is married and has two adult children. She also shares her home with two dogs and multiple barn cats. In her spare time, Dr. Bauman enjoys gardening flowers and vegetables.

Dr. Amy Schmidt

Dr. Schmidt is a graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the team in 1995. Her current focus is small animal medicine. She has dogs and cats that share her home. Dr. Schmidt enjoys watching her three children participate in various sporting activities and reading in her spare time.

Dr. Rochelle Kallstrom

Dr. Kallstrom is a 2001 graduate from the University of Minnesota Veterinary College. Dr. Kallstrom visits multiple clinic locations, seeing small animal patients. She enjoys everything from hiking, biking, reading, and volleyball. Dr. Kallstrom is married and has three boys. They share their home with three cats.

Dr. Jason Anderson

Dr. Jason Anderson’s focus is on large animal medicine. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Anderson’s interests include exhibiting Simmental cattle at both state and national shows.

Dr. Jessica Anderson

Dr. Jessica Anderson joined the team in 2020. Areas of interest include both small and large animals. Dr. Anderson enjoys horseback riding, hiking, reading, and spending time with her dogs.

Laurel

Laurel is the office manager for South 71 Veterinary Clinic. Laurel joined the team in 1993. Sewing, crafting, and gardening are a few favorite hobbies. She has a Norwegian Elkhound named Cora.

Jenny

Jenny is a certified veterinary technician that joined the team in 2002. She spends time at the Willmar office and the Granite Falls location. Jenny enjoys spending time with her family and dog.

Nikki

Nikki joined the team in 2004, and is a certified veterinary technician at both the Willmar and Benson locations. On weekends, Nikki enjoys reading and spending time with her family and son. She shares
her home with her boston terrier dogs.

Karina

Karina is a certified veterinary technician. She is married and has two boys. She enjoys helping with Sunday school, baking, reading, and fishing. She shares her home with her dog and cat.

Emily

Emily is a certified veterinary technician at the clinic! She enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. They have a little hobby farm with two dogs, two cats, two horses, and a bunch of chickens.

Emma

Emma is a veterinary technician. She joined our team in 2018. She is local to the area and enjoys both small and large animals. Emma shares her home with her dog, Daisy and her cat, Frankie.

Amber

Amber is a veterinary technician graduate from Ridgewater College. She joined us in October 2019. Amber shares her home with her dogs Sadie and Bailey.

If your pet needs surgery, trust our compassionate team to complete the job while keeping your pet as comfortable as possible. We perform surgeries on both large and small animals.

In-House Laboratory

Our state-of-the-art in-house laboratory allows us to run tests and diagnose certain illnesses quickly, efficiently, and accurately. We can perform chemistry analysis, CBC tests, and urinalysis.

In-House Pharmacy

Our in-house pharmacy is conveniently equipped with the medications you need to help your pet feel better.

Pet Boarding

If you are going on vacation and need someone to take care of your pet, you can trust they are in good hands with us. Our pet boarding provides around-the-clock care and several amenities, including individual housing for your pet, an outdoor area for playtime, and of course, personal attention.
